Lagos Assembly steps down LASPA GM nominee Adebisi Adelabu over procedural breaches, confirming other government nominees
Lagos State House of Assembly has stepped down the nomination of Mrs. Adebisi Adelabu as the General Manager of the Lagos State Parking Authority (LASPA), citing serious procedural breaches linked to her previous tenure.

The decision was made during Thursday’s plenary session presided over by Speaker Rt. Hon. (Dr.) Mudashiru Ajayi Obasa in Lagos.
Lawmakers raised concerns that Mrs. Adelabu had occupied the LASPA office since 2021 without undergoing the constitutionally required screening process.
Her prolonged, unapproved stay had previously led the House to nullify her appointment on November 18, 2025.
Despite her re-nomination, she failed to satisfy the House during the screening exercise, prompting a unanimous decision to defer her confirmation for further review.
In contrast, other nominees submitted by Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu faced no issues and were duly confirmed.
These include Mr. Kehinde Durosinmi-Etti as Chairman of the Lagos State Security Trust Fund, Engr. Olopade Adekunle, Barr. Mrs. Temitope George, Mr. Alexander Akinwunmi, Mr. Falola Olakunle, and Mr. Bello Wasiu Oladimeji in various leadership and membership roles within the Lagos State Electricity Regulatory Commission.

The House adjourned sine die following the confirmations. Analysts note that the decision underscores the Assembly’s insistence on procedural compliance and legislative oversight, reinforcing accountability within Lagos State public offices.
