The milestone was announced on Sunday as the world marked Clean Energy Day, highlighting JMG’s growing role in Nigeria’s transition towards sustainable and cost-efficient energy solutions.
The company said the newly installed 129-kilowatt hybrid solar system now supplies up to 90 percent of the headquarters’ energy needs, generating approximately 15.48 megawatt-hours of clean electricity each month.
The installation has reduced diesel consumption by more than 34,800 litres annually and eliminated over 71 tonnes of carbon dioxide emissions.
The project was designed and executed by JMG Solar, the renewable energy division of JMG Limited, using LONGi 575-watt solar panels, Deye high-efficiency hybrid inverters and 122.9 kilowatt-hours of lithium-ion battery storage.
The system was designed to be reliable, scalable and capable of meeting future energy demands.
JMG Limited operates across multiple sectors through specialised divisions, including power generation, solar energy, cooling systems, vertical transportation, electrical infrastructure and industrial air compressor solutions.
The company supplies integrated energy and infrastructure systems that support homes, commercial buildings and industrial facilities across Nigeria.
Speaking on the development, Rabi Jammal, Group General Manager of JMG Limited, said the project demonstrates that clean energy adoption can deliver immediate and measurable benefits for businesses.
“JMG is not just advocating clean energy, we are running on it,” Jammal said. “Our headquarters clearly shows that smart solar solutions can significantly reduce operating costs while delivering strong environmental benefits.”
He added that the company’s clean energy strategy extends beyond its headquarters, with renewable power solutions deployed across healthcare facilities, factories, data centres and commercial buildings nationwide.
Recently, business partners and key stakeholders toured the solar installation at JMG’s headquarters, where the company showcased how renewable energy is reducing reliance on fossil fuels while improving operational efficiency.
Reflecting on Clean Energy Day, Jammal said JMG remains committed to advancing sustainability while supporting economic development in Nigeria.
