Teniola Aladese Voices Growing Fear Over Safety in Lekki

Actress Teniola Aladese raises alarm over Lekki safety, saying repeated encounters with strange men have stopped her from walking alone

Nollywood actress Teniola Aladese has expressed growing concern over her personal safety in her Lekki estate in Lagos, revealing that she no longer feels comfortable taking solitary walks in the area.

Aladese spoke during a recent interview in which she compared her current experience in Lekki with her former neighbourhood in Magodo, where she said walking alone at any hour posed no threat.

According to the actress, regular walks were once part of her daily routine, even late at night, without fear or incident.

“Walking was part of my routine in Magodo,” Aladese said. “I could take walks even at 2 a.m. and feel completely safe.”

She said her experience changed significantly after relocating to Lekki, where she has had repeated encounters that left her deeply unsettled.

“In Lekki, I’ve had several instances where strange men followed me,” she said, describing the situation as distressing and alarming.

Aladese recalled a particularly frightening incident that forced her to rethink her lifestyle and personal safety measures.

“On that fateful day, it was God that saved me,” she said. “After that experience, I decided to stop walking outside and bought a treadmill for use at home.”

The actress’s remarks highlight wider concerns about security in some residential areas of Lagos, particularly among women who say they feel increasingly vulnerable in public spaces.

The Teniola Aladese Lekki safety comments have since sparked conversations online about urban security, personal safety and the need for stronger community and law enforcement presence in high-density neighbourhoods.
