Dami Foreign apology follows Tiwa Savage’s warning over posts referencing her son, sparking debate about online harassment and minors

X influencer Dami Foreign issued a public apology to Afrobeats singer Tiwatope Savage on Tuesday after the artist warned him to stop referencing her son, Jamil Balogun, in online posts.

The apology came hours after Tiwatope Savage publicly cautioned the influencer against involving her child in social media commentary, describing the action as crossing the line.

In a post addressed directly to the singer on X, Dami Foreign said he was sorry if his tweets caused offence and insisted that he did not intend harm toward the singer or her son.

Dami Foreign said he had also posted positive comments about the singer in the past and described his overall sentiment as affectionate rather than hostile.

The apology followed a post earlier on Tuesday in which Dami Foreign commented on an image of Jamil Balogun, prompting an immediate and forceful response from the singer.

Tiwatope Savage warned that any further reference to her child would move beyond the online space and become a personal matter.

Checks showed that the post was part of a pattern of repeated remarks by the influencer about the singer over several months.

Previous posts included comments about the singer’s age and career trajectory, which had attracted criticism from fans and observers.

In further responses, Tiwatope Savage accused the influencer of sustained harassment and of previously making harmful remarks about her wellbeing.

Tiwatope Savage said she had previously ignored the comments but decided to respond when her child became involved.

In a separate post, the singer questioned the influencer’s fixation on her public image and dismissed his relevance.

The exchange drew widespread reactions on X and reignited debate about cyberbullying, online harassment and the boundaries of so-called banter culture, particularly when minors are concerned.
