Crayon mental health struggle revealed as singer shares 2022 therapy experience and comeback with hit songs

Nigerian singer Crayon has revealed details of his battle with mental health challenges in 2022, attributing the struggle to pressure from both his family and the music industry.

Crayon’s mental health struggle came to light during a livestream session on Thursday night, where the artiste explained that the desire to meet expectations at home while striving for success in the competitive music scene placed him under intense stress.

He disclosed that the situation worsened to the point where he required hospitalisation and underwent therapy for an extended period before making a recovery.

According to him, the experience became a turning point in his career, as he returned with renewed focus and released hit songs including “Labalaba” and “Overloading.”

Crayon stated that the pressure to be at the top of the industry, combined with personal responsibilities, contributed significantly to his condition at the time.

Crayon health issues struggle highlights the growing conversation around mental well-being in the entertainment industry, where artistes often face high expectations and demanding career paths.
