Zenith Bank under fire after Tiktoker alleges dismissal over office vlog content

A Zenith Bank employee and TikTok creator known online as GRWM Becca has alleged that she lost her job after disciplinary proceedings linked to her workplace-related social media content, including an office vlog she shared online.

According to Becca’s account, the situation began in 2022 when she was questioned by management over a video in which she joked about receiving a ₦10,000 salary increase.

She said the joke was misunderstood, leading to her being summoned before the bank’s Disciplinary Committee at its Head Office.

Becca claimed she was asked questions about her background during the meeting, including “who is your dad” and how she secured her job.

She said she responded that her father was a pastor and that she got the position through the regular application process.

She appealed for understanding, describing herself as a new employee and first-time offender at the time. According to her, the matter was later resolved after she was pardoned.

The content creator said her online audience grew significantly between 2024 and 2025, but this also resulted in further warnings from management over the level of workplace exposure in her videos.

Becca said she initially believed her content was similar to the lifestyle and dance videos widely shared by other creators, but later understood the concerns raised by the organisation and reduced workplace-related posts.

The situation escalated in April 2026 after she uploaded a full office vlog. She said the video led to another query and a fresh appearance before a full disciplinary panel, where she was accused of improperly exposing aspects of the workplace through her content.

She stated that she removed the videos, stopped creating content featuring her workplace and restricted her “Get Ready With Me” videos to her personal space.

However, Becca said she was informed on Thursday, July 23, 2026, that she had been asked to resign from her position with immediate effect.

She described the moment as emotional, saying she later wrote a farewell message reflecting on her years at the bank, her colleagues and the professional experience she had built.

The alleged dismissal has generated discussion online, with some social media users comparing the situation with other financial sector employees who have built online followings through workplace-related content.

Some commentators argued that workplace policies and confidentiality requirements differ between organisations, while others questioned whether social media activities outside official duties should affect employment decisions.

The claims have not been independently verified, and Zenith Bank has not publicly issued a statement addressing Becca’s allegations at the time of reporting.

The incident has renewed conversations around corporate social media policies, employee branding and the balance between personal content creation and professional responsibilities.
