Zenith Bank expands with new Manchester branch

Zenith Bank Manchester branch opens to provide corporate, trade, and treasury services across the UK, Europe, and Africa

Zenith Bank Plc has officially opened a new branch in Manchester, marking a significant expansion of its operations in the United Kingdom.

The inauguration ceremony, held on March 17, was attended by government officials from Nigeria and the United Kingdom, regulators, investors, business leaders, and clients.

The Manchester branch is designed to support businesses engaged in trade and investment, offering corporate banking, trade finance, treasury, and other specialised financial services.

The branch will operate in coordination with Zenith Bank’s London office and its wider international network to facilitate transactions between the United Kingdom, Europe, and Africa.

Group Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer Adaora Umeoji stated that the new branch represents a strategic step in Zenith Bank’s growth as an African financial institution connecting global markets.

“The opening of our Manchester branch represents another step in Zenith Bank’s growth as an African financial institution connecting businesses and markets across continents,” Umeoji said.

Founded in 1990 by Jim Ovia, Zenith Bank is headquartered in Lagos and maintains extensive operations across Nigeria. The bank also has subsidiaries in Ghana, Sierra Leone, Gambia, and Côte d’Ivoire, and maintains international offices in the United Kingdom, France, the United Arab Emirates, and China.

The Manchester branch will leverage the bank’s international infrastructure to provide seamless support to clients conducting business between the United Kingdom and Africa, further cementing Zenith Bank’s reputation as a global banking leader.
