The campaign follows the recent launch of “ALAT: The Evolution”, an upgrade of the bank’s digital platform, and is designed to celebrate different expressions of love among customers beyond traditional romantic themes.

Wema Bank stated that the initiative invites new and existing customers to participate across four categories comprising singles, friends, married couples and those planning weddings in February.

Participants are required to create a “Love Goal” on the ALAT app and share a one minute video on social media describing how their love journey has evolved.

According to the bank, qualifying participants stand to receive rewards including cash prizes, spa vouchers, vacations and expense paid getaways.

One couple getting married in February will receive a special celebrity artiste performance at their wedding.

Moruf Oseni said the initiative reflects the bank’s customer centric philosophy and its intention to recognise diverse life experiences among its users.

Moruf Oseni explained that the campaign aims to promote self love, friendship, family bonds and romantic commitment, while creating an inclusive Valentine experience for customers.

To qualify, Wema Bank stated that participants must activate SAW, the voice banking assistant on the upgraded ALAT app, create and fund a goal titled “Love Goal”, and carry out transactions with their ALAT or Wema card between 1 February and 10 February.

Entries are to be posted on social media using the hashtag associated with the campaign and tagging the bank’s official handles. Further details are available on the bank’s website.
