The Group Chief Executive of Oando Group described the late leader as a man whose life was anchored in service, discipline, and an enduring belief in the nation he led.

“Today, we bid farewell to a man whose life was defined by service, discipline, an unwavering commitment to Nigeria,” Tinubu wrote in a statement.

According to him, Buhari’s leadership journey—from military rule to two consecutive terms as a democratically elected president—was marked by a fierce dedication to public service and reform.

His record, Tinubu noted, included strong anti-corruption policies, security strategies, and a focused drive for national self-reliance.

Wale Tinubu mourns Buhari by highlighting his reputation as a statesman and symbol of resilience.

He acknowledged Buhari’s ability to remain steady in the face of major national challenges and his determined efforts to steer Nigeria through turbulent times.

“Former President Muhammadu Buhari was more than a statesman—he was a symbol of resilience in the face of great national challenges,” Tinubu said.

“His leadership, from the military era to his two-term democratic presidency, leaves a legacy marked by a fierce anti-corruption stance, decisive security efforts, and an earnest pursuit of self-reliance through numerous reforms.”

Today, we bid farewell to a man whose life was defined by service, discipline, an unwavering commitment to Nigeria.

As a business leader, Tinubu also reflected on Buhari’s economic legacy and policy direction.

He commended the late president’s belief in Nigeria’s capacity for transformation and reform, noting that he had personally witnessed Buhari’s conviction in the country’s potential.

“I had the honour of witnessing his belief in Nigeria—in our capacity to rise, to reform, and to thrive. May history remember him kindly,” he added.

Wale Tinubu mourns Buhari not only as a national figure but also as a symbol of moral strength, describing his passing as a loss for all Nigerians who valued his service and patriotism.

“My thoughts and prayers are with his family and all Nigerians mourning a man who gave his all to the nation he loved,” Tinubu stated.

In his closing remarks, he offered prayers for the former president’s eternal peace and called for divine mercy.

“May his sins be forgiven, as there is no one without sin, and may Allah grant him Al-Jannah Firdaus,” he concluded.

Buhari, who served as Nigeria’s military Head of State between 1983 and 1985 before returning as a civilian president from 2015 to 2023, was known for his ascetic lifestyle and straightforward approach to leadership.
