In a chilling account shared by Nejeeb Bello Oyarese, the importance of having CCTV surveillance, especially in combination with other security measures, has been vividly highlighted.

Oyarese recounted a harrowing incident involving armed intruders attempting to invade a residence under the cover of darkness, emphasizing the critical role played by CCTV footage in thwarting their attack.

The incident described by Oyarese paints a stark picture of vulnerability and imminent danger faced by homeowners in Nigeria and beyond. Five unclad armed assailants, executing a meticulously planned assault, targeted a residence late at night.

Their methodical approach, including cutting off the power supply to the property, underscores the severity of the threat posed by such brazen acts of criminality.

However, despite the assailants’ calculated efforts, the presence of solar-powered CCTV cameras proved to be a game-changer in the face of adversity.

The surveillance footage captured by the CCTV system not only provided crucial evidence of the intrusion but also served as a vital tool for enhancing security awareness and preparedness among homeowners.

“When five armed men come stark naked to your house late at night, and cut off your power before they attack, there’s absolutely no plan for mercy. Thank God for solar power and CCTV.

“This is not my house, and didn’t happen recently. The video was sent to me on 23-10-2022 as part of security consciousness training regarding the use of solar power, security doors, and CCTV in Nigeria.

“I’m deleting old files from my device and thought to share,” he wrote.
