Tinubu, Ambode remain best choice for Nigeria, Lagos – Group

A support group backs President Bola Tinubu’s re-election and urges the return of former Lagos governor Akinwunmi Ambode

A support group, the Tinubu/Ambode Patriots, has declared that the re-election of Bola Ahmed Tinubu and the return of former Lagos State governor Akinwunmi Ambode remain the best options for Nigeria and Lagos State ahead of the next electoral cycle.

The position was announced by the group’s coordinator, Mr Dare Dada, during a meeting of members held in Ikeja.

Dada said the leadership credentials of President Tinubu at the national level and the governance record of Ambode in Lagos State make them reliable choices to sustain development and accelerate progress.

The coordinator added that the group had begun strengthening its grassroots structures across Lagos to ensure effective mobilisation and wider engagement with residents.

“We are convinced beyond doubt that the re-election of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu is in the best interest of Nigeria. His administration has taken bold and necessary steps aimed at repositioning the country’s economy and governance structure for long-term stability and growth,” Dada said.

Dada also expressed confidence that Ambode’s return to Government House would deliver renewed momentum for development in the state.

“At the same time, Lagos State needs a tested and proven administrator like former Governor Akinwunmi Ambode to return to Alausa. His record in office speaks clearly for him, and we believe his return will further accelerate development in the state,” the coordinator added.

The Tinubu Ambode Support message, according to Dada, reflects the growing belief among some stakeholders that experienced leadership is required to consolidate development gains.

“Lagos does not need a neophyte at this critical time,” Dada said. “What the state requires is somebody with the experience and expertise to consolidate on the work already done by the All Progressives Congress-led government and also complement the efforts of the Federal Government.”

He noted that many residents still recall Ambode’s developmental initiatives during his tenure between 2015 and 2019.

According to him, projects in road construction, security infrastructure and urban renewal left visible footprints across the state and continue to shape public conversations about governance.

“Across Lagos today, many residents still speak about the achievements of Governor Ambode during his first tenure. From massive road construction to improved security architecture and infrastructural renewal, his administration left visible footprints across the state,” Dada said.

Dada also called on the group’s coordinators across the senatorial districts, local governments and wards to intensify mobilisation ahead of future political activities.

“Our coordinators at the senatorial, local government and ward levels must go back to the grassroots and begin the work of mobilisation. This is what we have always done as a support group, and we must do it again with greater commitment,” he said.

He urged members to engage residents, market leaders, youth groups and community stakeholders across Lagos to explain why President Tinubu at the national level and Ambode in Lagos represent a powerful leadership combination for sustained progress.
