Shatta Wale shares his favourite Afrobeats stars, including Davido, Wizkid and Burna Boy, and speaks on friendship and collaboration hopes
Ghanaian singer Shatta Wale has revealed his top three favourite Afrobeats artistes, describing them as a source of motivation during a recent appearance on the Afrobeats Podcast.

The outspoken musician named Nigerian stars Davido, Wizkid, and Burna Boy while reflecting on his relationships with each of them and their influence on his musical journey.
Shatta Wale explained that his early connection with Davido began through a personal encounter in which the Nigerian star reportedly mentioned that his father appreciated one of Shatta Wale’s earlier songs.
He noted that although their friendship remains intact, busy schedules have limited public appearances together.
Speaking further, he described Burna Boy as having a close bond with him, likening their relationship to that of “twin brothers,” while recalling the Nigerian artist’s earlier visit to Ghana during a difficult phase in his career.
On Wizkid, Shatta Wale characterised him as more reserved and laid-back, stating that their interactions have been limited to occasional meetings, including at a shared event and brief encounters in Ghana.
Despite their individual success and demanding schedules, Shatta Wale said he holds all three artistes in high regard and sees them as motivation to continue pushing his own international ambitions.
He added that their global breakthroughs encourage him to remain consistent in his craft, expressing optimism that future collaborations could still happen.
