Ruger disclosed the incident during an interview with media personality VJ Adams, explaining that he only recently discovered an old direct message from Funke Akindele inviting him to take part in one of her movie projects.

Ruger recalls missed chance to feature in Funke Akindele movie moment, he said, came about because the message went unnoticed until long after it had become irrelevant.

The singer admitted he had previously noticed that the actress frequently engaged with his music online and had intended to reach out in appreciation.

However, that plan collapsed when he later realised she had already made contact with a professional opportunity he failed to see in time.

Ruger described the experience as deeply frustrating, noting that it “still pains him till date”.

He added that while he is open to acting, he believes transitioning into film would require significant adjustment, particularly due to his discomfort with shooting schedules.

Despite the setback, Ruger expressed willingness to explore acting roles in the future, provided the character and storyline are compelling enough to draw him in.
