According to an anonymous source, Fubara departed on Wednesday morning with his family and security details, though the reason behind his sudden exit remains unclear.

Security at the Government House, however, has continued to draw attention. Although the presence of two Armoured Personnel Carriers stationed in front of the premises was noted on Tuesday night, the overall security remains sparse.

A limited number of security operatives are currently stationed at the location, raising questions about the situation’s stability.

Despite the developments at the Government House, normal life continues across Port Harcourt and its surrounding areas. Residents have not reported any significant disruptions, indicating that the city remains calm and functional.

In a related development, the newly appointed Administrator of Rivers State, Vice Admiral Ibokette Ibas (retd.), has yet to assume office as of Wednesday afternoon. Ibas, who was appointed by President Bola Tinubu, will oversee the state’s governance for the next six months.

As of 12:50 p.m. on Wednesday, preparations were underway at the Government House to welcome the new Administrator. Approximately 15 soldiers were seen inside the premises, suggesting that his arrival is imminent.

Fubara’s unexpected departure and the ongoing transition in leadership are significant developments in the state’s political landscape.
