Rite Foods Limited has rewarded 652 retailers across Lagos, Benin, Port Harcourt and the South-West with cash prizes and household appliances after 259,306 flaps were redeemed during its Awoof Retail Flap Promo held between March and June 2026.
The promotion turned flaps attached to eligible mega cartons of participating Rite Foods products, including Rite Spicy Beef Sausage, into rewards for retailers who collected and redeemed them during the campaign.

Six retailers received ₦1 million each, bringing the total cash prize to ₦6 million, while 646 other winners received household appliances ranging from electric kettles and blenders to microwaves, rechargeable fans, gas cookers, freezers, washing machines and 1.5HP inverter air conditioners.

The initiative was designed around a straightforward idea: reward retailers for the everyday work of getting products from cartons to shops and ultimately into consumers’ homes.
Rotimi Okunola, National Sales Manager, Bakery & Modern Trade, Rite Foods Limited, said the campaign was intended to recognise the contribution of retailers to the company’s route to consumers.
“Our retailers are an important part of our journey to consumers.”

Okunola said retailers work every day to make Rite Foods products available in the places where consumers shop, adding that the Awoof Promo was the company’s way of giving something back to those retailers.
The distribution of prizes varied across the four participating areas.
Benin recorded the highest number with 251 prizes, followed by Port Harcourt with 245, the South-West with 84 and Lagos with 72. All 652 prizes have been presented to the winners.
Beyond the headline cash awards, the range of household appliances gave the promotion a practical dimension.
Winners received items that can support everyday household needs, making the rewards more tangible than a conventional sales incentive.
The campaign also reflects the important role retailers play in Nigeria’s fast-moving consumer goods market, where the availability of products across neighbourhood shops, markets and other retail outlets remains central to how brands reach consumers.

For Rite Foods, the initiative provided an opportunity to strengthen its relationship with retailers while encouraging participation in the sale of eligible products.
The company said the Awoof Retail Flap Promo was intended to put value back into the hands of the retailers who help move products such as Rite Spicy Beef Sausage from cartons to shops and from shops to consumers.

With 259,306 flaps redeemed during the campaign period, the promotion ultimately converted an ordinary part of product packaging into a reward mechanism for hundreds of retailers.
The completion of the campaign therefore represents more than a promotional giveaway.

It highlights how consumer goods companies can use retailer-focused incentives to recognise the distribution networks that keep their products within reach of customers.
