Nigerian dancer and hypeman Iweh Pascal Odinaka, popularly known as Poco Lee, is scheduled to appear before Snaresbrook Crown Court in London on September 15, 2026, for plea and trial preparation in an assault case, the court confirmed on Tuesday, August 25.

The confirmation came after PUNCH Online contacted the London court seeking clarification over reports concerning an alleged sexual assault case involving the entertainer.

James Baker, the court’s Admin Team Lead, confirmed that the matter is officially listed for September 15, although the precise time and courtroom will only be made available shortly before the hearing.

“OFFICIAL. Good afternoon. I can confirm that this case is currently listed at Snaresbrook Crown Court for plea and trial preparation on the 15th September 2026,” Baker wrote.

He added that criminal court hearings are open to members of the public, while noting that specific courtroom and timing details would not be available until the day before the hearing.

The confirmation follows earlier claims by Benjamin Kuti, founder of the Community of Nigerians in the United Kingdom, who said Poco Lee was being held on remand and was expected to appear before the court in September.

Kuti said he was familiar with the development through his regular attendance at court proceedings and his support for Nigerians involved in legal matters in Britain.

“I can confirm that the reports are true. Poco Lee is currently on remand in a UK prison. His next court date is scheduled for the second week of September, when he is expected to have a plea hearing,” Kuti said.

Recent checks of publicly available UK court information have also identified a criminal case involving a defendant listed as Iweh Odinaka at Snaresbrook Crown Court.

A report citing court records said the case was previously listed on August 21, 2026, for a bail application. The publicly available record did not specify the offence.

The distinction is important because reports circulating online earlier this month initially referred to an alleged sexual offence, while details of the specific charge in the court record have not been publicly disclosed.

Reports have also separately carried allegations made by rapper Ms Jorji, but those claims have not been independently established and there is no verified information linking them to the London case.

The September hearing is therefore expected to provide a clearer picture of the proceedings, including the formal position of the defendant and the next steps in the case.

The Poco Lee London assault hearing comes at a significant moment for the entertainer, who was also named among the nominees for the 2026 Headies Awards on Tuesday.

Poco Lee received a Song of the Year nomination alongside Shoday and Rahman Jago for their collaboration, Hey Jago.

Poco Lee, who built his profile through dance before expanding into music and entertainment, has not been convicted of any offence in connection with the case.

The legal process remains ongoing, and the September 15 proceedings will be an important next stage in determining how the matter proceeds through the UK courts.
