The family confirmed the heartbreaking news through a statement issued by Eko Solicitors & Advocates, revealing that Ruth passed on at about 6:30 a.m. on August 31, 2025.

“With a heavy heart, the family regrets to announce the passing on to glory of their daughter, sister, and mother on this 31st Day of August, 2025 at about 06:30Hrs,” the statement read.

The family further appealed for privacy in their time of grief, noting that funeral arrangements will be communicated in due course.

Ruth’s death comes just weeks after she suffered a tragic accident near Auchi Polytechnic, Edo State, on August 13, 2025.

A heavy-duty truck linked to the Dangote Group crushed her leg, leading to an emergency amputation. Witnesses recounted how the truck was only stopped by the quick action of a bystander.

The accident happened only six days after Ruth celebrated her graduation from Auchi Polytechnic, making her sudden passing even more devastating for her loved ones and supporters.

Her untimely death has shocked many fans of her sister, Phyna, who won Big Brother Naija Season 7, and tributes have begun to pour in online.
