Oriyomi Hamzat governorship bid announced as the Oyo-based media personality declares for the 2027 election under the Accord Party

Alhaji Oriyomi Hamzat, a popular Oyo State based media personality and founder of Agidigbo FM, has officially announced his intention to contest the 2027 Oyo State governorship election on the platform of the Accord Party.

Hamzat made the declaration publicly on Friday, confirming his entry into the race and signalling a significant political move from the broadcast space into partisan politics.

“I am publicly declaring today that in 2027,” Hamzat said during the announcement, affirming his decision to seek the state’s highest political office under the Accord Party banner.

Widely known for his grassroots influence through radio broadcasting and community engagement, Hamzat has built a strong public profile in Oyo State, particularly among urban and rural listeners who follow Agidigbo FM’s programming.

His declaration adds a new dynamic to the emerging 2027 political landscape in the state, as attention gradually shifts toward potential contenders and party strategies ahead of the election cycle.

The Accord Party has yet to release further details on its governorship timetable or internal processes, while Hamzat has not formally unveiled his campaign agenda or policy priorities.

Political observers say his entry could reshape voter conversations, given his media reach and longstanding public presence, as parties begin early positioning for the 2027 polls.
