The arrests were announced on Monday by Abayomi Jimoh, the command’s Public Relations Officer, who explained that the operation took place on February 8 and involved the police, Nigerian Army, and Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC).
Jimoh said the intelligence-led raids targeted known criminal hideouts, black spots, and flashpoints across Ondo State.
The coordinated operation led to the recovery of items suspected to have been used for criminal activities, stolen properties, and other incriminating exhibits.
“The intelligence-led raid operation targeted identified criminal hideouts, black spots, and flashpoints across several parts of the state known for criminal activities. The coordinated operation resulted in the arrest of 99 suspects linked to offences such as armed robbery, burglary, theft, cultism, and other related crimes,” Jimoh stated.
The suspects are currently undergoing profiling, and those found culpable will face prosecution in court.
The state Commissioner of Police commended the professionalism of the officers involved and reiterated the command’s commitment to intelligence-driven policing and joint operations aimed at dismantling criminal networks.
“The CP warned criminal elements to desist from engaging in unlawful activities within the state, stressing that Ondo State will not serve as a haven for criminals,” Jimoh added.
The public was encouraged to continue supporting security agencies by providing timely, credible, and actionable information to sustain peace and security across the state.
