Popular Nigerian comedian Okey Bakassi has been chosen as the new king of Umuihuocha Autonomous Community in Mbaise, Imo State, sparking celebrations from colleagues and fans

[dropcap]C[/dropcap]elebrated Nigerian comedian Okechukwu Anthony Onyegbule, widely known as Okey Bakassi, has been bestowed with the traditional title of king by his people in Umuihuocha Autonomous Community, Mbaise, part of Imo State.

Following a selection process that recognized him as the most qualified candidate, the community has ushered in a new era under his leadership.

The announcement has been met with widespread joy and congratulatory messages from fellow entertainers.

Prominent figures in the Nigerian entertainment industry, including Alibaba, Kcee, Yaw, Acapella, and Frank Edoho, have taken to social media to celebrate Okey Bakassi’s ascension to the throne.

Okey Bakassi himself acknowledged his new role with a simple yet profound message on his social media page, stating, “NEXT LEVEL……Service to Community.” This reflects his commitment to serving his people in this new capacity.

HRH Eze Okechukwu Onyegbule, The OKWE II of Umuihuocha Obohia Autonomous Community, Ahiazu Mbaise, brings with him a distinguished career spanning over 30 years in comedy and acting.

His accolades include winning the “Best Actor in a Leading Role” award at the 2014 Best of Nollywood Awards for his performance in the film “Onye Ozi.”
