The Ogun State Police Command has launched a manhunt for a suspect identified simply as Kola over the alleged repeated sexual assault of a 17-year-old boy in Ogun State.
Police said the alleged assaults occurred on multiple occasions in January 2026, with the teenager reporting that the suspect repeatedly molested him during the period. The case was later reported to the authorities, prompting an investigation.
According to the police, Kola fled after the allegation surfaced and has since remained at large. Investigators have commenced efforts to locate and arrest him for questioning over the alleged offences.
The command said detectives are gathering evidence and taking statements from relevant witnesses as part of the ongoing investigation. It added that the identity of the teenage victim has been withheld in line with child protection and safeguarding laws.
Police urged members of the public with credible information about the suspect’s whereabouts to report to the nearest police station or contact the Ogun State Police Command, assuring residents that all useful information would be treated confidentially.
The latest case has renewed concern over sexual violence against minors and the importance of promptly reporting abuse to law enforcement and child protection agencies. Authorities said the investigation remains active until the suspect is apprehended.
