In his remarks, Daniel highlighted developments in roads, railways, airports and seaports, saying the scale of projects being undertaken across the country deserved recognition.
He urged participants at the conference to appreciate Tinubu’s role in driving the projects, particularly through the approval and support required to execute major infrastructure programmes.
Daniel pointed to developments along major road and rail corridors, as well as the expansion and rehabilitation of airports and ports.
“If you heard about the famous East-West Road, the Lagos-Sokoto Road, you heard recently about how our airports are being developed,” he said.
He added that he had personally observed construction activities in different parts of the country, including Port Harcourt.
“I saw construction going on in Port Harcourt, everywhere. And of course, you know that from one or two ports situation, we now have so many ports being developed,” Daniel said.
According to him, the developments reflect the Federal Government’s efforts to strengthen transportation infrastructure and improve logistics across the country.
“That credit goes to Mr President. And I want you to just clap for the President and Commander-in-Chief, Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu,” he said.
Daniel further stressed that the President’s approval and backing remained crucial to the implementation of major government projects.
“If you see us doing anything, if you see us making any efforts, without his signature it won’t work, once again, please send him a big round of applause,” he added.
The former governor also praised Nigerian scientists and professionals whose work supports developments in the transportation sector.
He said his appreciation of their contribution had grown from his experience of observing the level of expertise and work being undertaken within the sector.
Daniel described transportation and logistics as critical to Nigeria’s economic development, stressing that efficient movement of people and goods was essential for a sustainable economy.
His remarks came as stakeholders in Nigeria’s logistics and transport industry gathered under the Chartered Institute of Logistics and Transport of Nigeria to deliberate on issues affecting the sector and its contribution to national development.
Daniel also launched the conference proceedings on enhancing logistics and transportation for a sustainable economy in Nigeria.
The event provided a platform for professionals and stakeholders in the logistics and transport industry to examine ways of improving connectivity, infrastructure and efficiency across Nigeria’s transportation system.
