Odumeje advises Davido to focus on music, saying his life and achievements are already awards despite recent Grammy disappointment
Popular Anambra-based cleric, Prophet Chukwuemeka Ohanaemere, popularly known as Odumeje, has encouraged singer Davido to focus on his music and not be disheartened by his recent Grammy Award loss.

Odumeje described Davido as a great musician whose life and achievements are already awards, saying, “Your life is an award. Your step is an award.”
The cleric added that no new award could surpass the legacy Davido has built, emphasising that his career and influence are generational achievements.
“There is no award that you will receive now that means anything. You have already been awarded any award you need,” Odumeje said, urging the singer to continue inspiring his fans with new music.
Odumeje also warned Davido not to allow critics or detractors to demoralise him, stressing that the singer is already on top of the world and should remain confident in his artistic journey.
Davido was nominated in the Best African Music Performance category at the 2026 Grammy Awards but lost to South African singer Tyla.
