Former President Olusegun Obasanjo has congratulated Senator Gbenga Daniel on the occasion of his 70th birthday, commending the lawmaker for a distinguished life of service and enduring contributions to national development.

In a letter acknowledging Senator Daniel’s correspondence dated February 7, 2026, Chief Obasanjo expressed sincere pleasure in joining family, friends, and well-wishers to celebrate the milestone, describing it as an important moment in a purposeful life journey.

Chief Obasanjo conveyed his heartfelt congratulations on behalf of himself and his family, offering prayers for continued divine protection, good health, joy, and peace of mind in the years ahead.

Reflecting on the celebrant’s career, Chief Obasanjo noted that Senator Daniel has every reason to be grateful for a life marked by significant achievements and impactful service to both nation and humanity.

He emphasised that the senator’s trajectory demonstrates how determination, industry, and dedication can lead to success, even from modest beginnings.

The former president highlighted Senator Daniel’s tenure as Governor of Ogun State from 2003 to 2011, describing the period as one in which foundations for social and economic growth were firmly established.

He also commended the former governor’s efforts in promoting peaceful coexistence among diverse ethnic and religious groups in the state.

Chief Obasanjo further acknowledged Senator Daniel’s ongoing service in the National Assembly since 2023, noting his “uncommon sense of duty” and commitment to representing his constituents effectively.
