The Nigerian National Petroleum Company Limited (NNPC Ltd) has sealed commercial agreements covering about $20bn in investments across major oil and gas projects, its Group Chief Executive Officer, Bashir Bayo Ojulari, has said.
Ojulari disclosed this on Tuesday at the 2026 Abu Dhabi International Petroleum Exhibition and Conference in Abu Dhabi, United Arab Emirates.

Speaking during an Energy Talk titled, “Nigeria’s Reform Agenda: Competing for Energy Capital,” he cited TotalEnergies’ Ubeta, Shell’s Bonga South-West and Eni’s Zabazaba projects as examples of renewed investor interest in Nigeria’s oil and gas sector.
He also said NNPC was building new relationships with partners, including the Abu Dhabi National Oil Company and Chinese investors in the country’s refineries, while working with global service companies to expand industry capacity.
According to Ojulari, reforms in the sector have increased national oil production by 600,000 barrels per day, from about 1.2 million barrels per day to 1.8 million barrels per day.
He attributed the growth to the Petroleum Industry Act 2021, an improved investment climate, better investment decisions and closer collaboration with industry partners.
The NNPC chief said the company was targeting production of two million barrels per day by 2027.
He explained that achieving the target would require maintaining infrastructure, protecting existing output, increasing production from current assets and advancing new projects.
Ojulari also disclosed that the Obiafu-Obrikom-Oben pipeline was completed in August 2026.

He said the Ajaokuta-Kaduna-Kano pipeline was expected to deliver gas to Abuja before the end of the year, supporting power generation, data centres and industrial hubs.
