NIPSS gunmen attack leaves three security operatives dead as Plateau Police confirm investigation and increased security measures
The Plateau State Police Command has confirmed that three security operatives were killed during a gunmen attack on the National Institute for Policy and Strategic Studies (NIPSS), Kuru, on Monday.

The command disclosed the incident in a statement issued in Jos on Tuesday by the Police Public Relations Officer, SP Alfred Alabo.
The police described the attack as a sad development, confirming that the affected personnel were on duty at the facility when the incident occurred.
“Regrettably, three security personnel lost their lives during the incident,” the statement read.
Following the attack, the Plateau State Commissioner of Police, CP Bassey Ewah, ordered increased security around NIPSS and the surrounding communities.
The command said security reinforcements had been deployed while patrols were intensified to prevent further threats.
The police assured residents that normal activities had resumed, adding that the situation was under control.
“Investigation is ongoing. The command urges members of the public to remain calm and go about their lawful businesses,” Alabo stated.
NIPSS Kuru, regarded as Nigeria’s premier policy training institution for senior public officials, has witnessed one of its most serious security breaches in recent years.
