BBNaija S11: Neche wins Head of House for week 3

Chinaecherem Maduagwu, popularly known as Neche, a 25-year-old lawyer and entrepreneur from Anambra State and Big Brother Naija Season 11 housemate, emerged as the Week 3 Head of House in Lagos on Monday, August 10, 2026, after overcoming 21 fellow contestants in the weekly challenge.

The victory gives Neche immunity from this week’s eviction nominations and places her at the centre of decision-making in the Big Brother house as the competition enters another crucial phase.

Reports from BellaNaija, TheNET and The Nation indicate that Neche’s route to the title ended in a final contest against Chimsom Chuka, who had previously won the first Head of House title of the season. Neche outlasted Chimsom in the deciding stage to claim the position.

The result also makes Neche the second female housemate to hold the Head of House position this season, following Sheba’s Week 2 victory.

For Neche, the achievement comes with a significant strategic advantage. Her immunity protects her from the immediate threat of eviction while her position gives her influence over aspects of life inside the house.

The Week 3 contest comes at a particularly important point in the season. Big Brother Naija Season 11 began on July 26 with 24 housemates competing for a record ₦160 million prize package under the “Show Ya Sef” theme.

Two housemates, Martins and Mercedes, have since left the competition following the first eviction show, leaving 22 contestants in the house before the latest Head of House challenge.

Neche’s victory was followed by another significant development in the nomination process.

According to Business Post Nigeria, 17 housemates were placed at risk of eviction this week after the housemates were asked to save three contestants from possible eviction.

Chimsom Chuka, Neche and Nomy were exempt from that process because of their respective advantages in the game.

Cassi, Bluethopia and Gerad were initially saved, but Neche exercised her authority as Head of House to remove Gerad from the safe list.

The development adds a fresh strategic layer to Neche’s reign, with her decisions now capable of influencing the fortunes of other contestants during a week when the pressure around eviction is already rising.

Neche entered the show with a professional background that sets her apart from many of the contestants.

Her official Africa Magic profile identifies her as a lawyer and entrepreneur, while she has described herself as someone who sometimes overthinks and needs time alone to recharge.

Before entering the house, Neche explained that her decision to join the reality show was rooted in years of watching the programme.

“I have watched and enjoyed the show and now I want to be on the screen,” Neche said in her official profile.

Her journey so far therefore represents a notable shift from longtime viewer to one of the season’s most influential players.

The Season 11 house has also introduced several changes to the traditional Head of House system.

In the opening week, Chimsom won the challenge but did not automatically receive the exclusive HoH lounge. Instead, a lucky-dip twist allowed Tram to occupy the lounge, with Sheba later joining him.

That change has made the Head of House title less straightforward than in previous seasons, separating some of the traditional privileges while retaining the important protection against eviction.

The wider setting is equally distinctive. The Season 11 house in Lagos was redesigned around an “upside-down” concept and equipped with 52 robotic cameras, seven handheld cameras and extensive audio equipment to capture the contestants around the clock.

With nominations now completed and voting underway, Neche begins her first week as Head of House at a pivotal moment.

Her decisions, alliances and use of her authority could prove influential as the remaining contestants fight to stay in the ₦160 million competition.

For a housemate who entered Biggie’s house hoping to move from the audience to the centre of the action, Neche’s Week 3 victory is an early and powerful statement of intent.
