Mercy Johnson-Okojie Edo Appointment announced as Nollywood star becomes Special Adviser on Public Engagement and Advocacy
Governor Monday Okpebholo has approved the appointment of Nollywood icon Mercy Johnson-Okojie as Special Adviser on Public Engagement and Advocacy, the Edo State Government announced on Thursday.

The announcement, contained in a statement signed by Secretary to the State Government, Mr Musa Ikhilor, confirmed that Mercy Johnson-Okojie will use her public influence, communication skills, and grassroots reach to strengthen engagement between residents and government policies and programmes.
Mercy Johnson-Okojie is an accomplished actress, producer, entrepreneur, and philanthropist, with nearly two decades in Nollywood and a filmography exceeding 200 titles.
Her contributions have earned recognition at prestigious platforms, including the Africa Magic Viewers’ Choice Awards (AMVCA).
Beyond her entertainment career, she is widely respected for humanitarian efforts through the Mercy Johnson Okojie Foundation, promoting women empowerment, child welfare, education, and healthcare outreach.
She has consistently leveraged her platform to advance social responsibility, civic awareness, and community development.
