Manchester City win 4-0 over Wolves with Haaland double, Reijnders and Cherki scoring, signaling Guardiola’s side is back in the title race

Manchester City win 4-0 over Wolves in their Premier League opener, signaling intent to reclaim the title. Erling Haaland scored twice, with new signings Tijjani Reijnders and Rayan Cherki also on target.

City, who finished third last season without a trophy for the first time in eight years, showcased a confident performance under Pep Guardiola.

Reijnders, a £46.5 million signing from AC Milan, created the opening goal for Haaland before scoring himself. Cherki added a late strike to seal the win.

James Trafford made his senior debut in goal, impressing with his composure despite Ederson’s absence amid a potential move to Galatasaray.

Wolves, missing star player Matheus Cunha, struggled to respond, with an early Munetsi header ruled out for offside.

The victory was built on quick attacking transitions, precise passing, and clinical finishing.

Haaland scored his second after a flowing move orchestrated by Reijnders and Oscar Bobb. Cherki’s strike from outside the box capped the dominant performance.

Manchester City, Premier League, Erling Haaland, Pep Guardiola, WolvesCity now face tough fixtures against Tottenham, Brighton, Arsenal, and Manchester United, but their convincing start has sent a warning to rivals in the Premier League title race.
