Awode said Nigerians should move beyond depending entirely on government intervention and recognise their role in addressing challenges within their immediate environments.

According to him, meaningful community development requires citizens to contribute their time, resources and ideas towards finding solutions to local problems.
He stressed that although government has an important responsibility to provide infrastructure, security and essential public services, individuals and community groups must also play active roles in improving living conditions.
Awode’s position highlights the need for shared responsibility between public institutions and citizens in tackling Nigeria’s development challenges.
His remarks also draw attention to the importance of grassroots initiatives, civic participation and collective action in building stronger communities.

However, the entrepreneur’s comments do not diminish government’s responsibility to fulfil its obligations to citizens, particularly in areas requiring public funding, policy intervention and institutional support.
