Kaduna State Roads Agency commends Governor Uba Sani for completing a 35km road linking Igabi and Chikun LGAs

The Kaduna State Roads Agency has commended Governor Uba Sani for sustained investment in road infrastructure following the completion of a 35-kilometre asphalt road linking Gadan Gayan in Igabi Local Government Area to Kujama Junction in Chikun Local Government Area.

The Managing Director of the agency, Dr Abdullahi Baba-Ahmad, gave the commendation on Tuesday during the commissioning of the project, according to a statement issued by the agency’s media team in Abuja.

Baba-Ahmad described the project as a landmark achievement, noting that it features a 130-metre, nine-span bridge and would significantly improve rural–urban connectivity, stimulate economic activities and ease movement for residents along the corridor.

He said the completion of the road reflected the administration’s commitment to delivering development across the state, adding that more than 1,300 kilometres of roads had been completed under the current government.

According to him, the road project forms part of broader efforts to open up underserved communities and reduce travel time for farmers, traders and commuters.

Speaking at the event, Governor Sani said the road was designed to meet both economic and social needs, explaining that it connects Gadan Gayan, Gwaraji, Wusar and Kujama Junction, cutting across Igabi, Kajuru and Chikun Local Government Areas.

He said the road directly serves more than 76 rural and farming communities and provides an alternative route that reduces congestion around Kaduna metropolis while improving access to markets, healthcare, education and emergency services.

The project is among several road interventions undertaken by the Sani administration as part of its infrastructure renewal programme aimed at boosting economic growth, improving security and enhancing living standards in Kaduna State.
