[dropcap]A[/dropcap]t the prestigious Nigerian Oil and Gas Forum’s second edition, Julius Rone, the Group Managing Director and CEO of UTM Offshore Limited (UTMOL), was recognised for his groundbreaking contributions to Nigeria’s energy sector.

The event, held last Thursday at the Ladi Kwali Hall, Abuja Intercontinental Hotel, brought together industry leaders, regulators, and investors to celebrate those reshaping the nation’s energy landscape.

Rone, often referred to as the “King of Gas” by colleagues and admirers, has built an illustrious career in the Nigerian energy industry.

His achievements have not only cemented his reputation as a trailblazer but have also made significant contributions to the region’s economic development.

The awards adorning his office and home serve as a testament to the hard work and dedication that have defined his career over the years.

The Nigerian Oil and Gas Forum recognises visionaries whose leadership and innovation redefine excellence in the sector.

The award ceremony highlighted outstanding individuals whose contributions continue to shape the future of the oil and gas industry in Nigeria.

In a speech delivered by Dr. Kelechi Ofebu, Executive Commissioner of Corporate Services at the Nigerian Upstream Petroleum Regulatory Commission (NUPRC), the importance of the oil and gas industry in driving national economic growth was emphasised.

Dr. Ofebu reaffirmed the need for a collaborative effort to address the country’s challenges and boost growth through continued investments and policy reforms.

Other notable awardees included Bamanga Jada Usman, MD/CEO of the Oil and Gas Free Zones Authority (OGFZA), and Engr. Gbenga Komolafe, the Chief Executive of NUPRC.

The event also witnessed the official launch of Energy Express Magazine, a new publication designed to showcase the achievements of key players in the oil and gas sector.

In his speech, Dr. Julius D. Rone expressed his pride in the launch of Energy Express Magazine, highlighting its role in promoting the accomplishments of industry leaders and stakeholders.

He stressed the importance of continued investment and policy reform to ensure the sustainability and global competitiveness of Nigeria’s oil and gas sector.
