JAMB releases Monday UTME results. Candidates can check scores via SMS as the board continues phased nationwide updates

The Registrar of the Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board, Professor Ishaq Oloyede, has overseen the release of results for candidates who sat the 2026 Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination on Monday, April 20, across Nigeria.

The board’s spokesperson, Fabian Benjamin, confirmed the development in a statement issued on Tuesday, directing candidates to the official result-checking channels.

“The results for Monday, 20th, have been released. Candidates can view their results using the usual process,” Fabian Benjamin stated.

Candidates can access their scores by sending “UTMERESULT” to 55019 or 66019 using the phone number used for registration.

The release forms part of the board’s ongoing phased and efficient rollout of results, following the commencement of the examination on Thursday, April 16.

Over two million candidates are participating in the computer-based test conducted nationwide at accredited centres.

The board had earlier released results for Thursday’s candidates, followed by a combined batch for Friday, April 17, and Saturday, April 18.

That batch experienced a delay, which drew frustration from candidates awaiting their scores.

The board later apologised, citing the absence of its chief executive due to an official engagement.

The eventual release of the delayed batch on Sunday restored confidence, while Monday’s prompt update signals a reassuring return to schedule.

Education observers note that the phased approach helps ensure accuracy and credibility in managing large volumes of examination data.

Candidates have been advised to rely only on official channels to avoid misinformation and protect their results access.
