Iyabo Ojo’s FAAN appointment sparks outrage among APC loyalists, who claim the Tinubu government rewards critics over consistent supporters
Iyabo Ojo, Nollywood actress and known Obidient supporter, has been appointed to a role at the Federal Airports Authority of Nigeria (FAAN), prompting criticism from loyalists of the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC).

Some APC members expressed disbelief on social media, pointing out that Ojo had openly criticised President Bola Tinubu during the 2023 election campaign.
“If anybody tells me that this same Iyabo Ojo can collect a gig under the Tinubu government, I will say never,” one party supporter wrote.
Critics argue that the government appears to favour former critics and outspoken opponents while sidelining party loyalists.
Commentators warned that such a reward system could undermine genuine followership and loyalty if left unchecked.
“Supporters who stood firm during the hard times should not be forgotten when it’s time for recognition. Loyalty matters. Consistency matters,” the APC loyalist added.
The appointment has sparked debate about political reward and recognition in the Tinubu administration, with observers noting that high-profile appointments often attract scrutiny when the appointees have visible opposition affiliations.

As of now, neither Iyabo Ojo nor FAAN officials have publicly responded to the backlash, and political analysts expect the conversation to continue across social media and political commentary platforms.
