Tension reportedly erupted at Igbudu Market as traders and market union members clashed with officials of the National Agency for Food and Drug Administration and Control (NAFDAC) during an enforcement operation targeting suspected fake products.
The confrontation reportedly occurred when the agency’s officials arrived at the market to inspect shops and confiscate goods suspected to be counterfeit or unregistered.

However, some traders and market union members allegedly resisted the operation, preventing the officials from opening shops and gaining access to the premises.
The resistance reportedly disrupted the enforcement exercise, with tensions rising as traders opposed the officials’ attempt to seize the suspected fake products.
Details surrounding the confrontation, including whether anyone was injured or arrested, were not immediately available.
