A housewife is arraigned in Ibadan over an alleged attack on her ex-husband with a ring during a dispute over child custody
A 31-year-old housewife, Alimat Jimoh, has been arraigned before an Iyaganku Chief Magistrates’ Court in Ibadan for allegedly assaulting her former husband during a dispute over child paternity and custody.

Jimoh, who resides in the Alakia Isebo area of Ibadan, was charged with two counts of breach of peace and assault.
She pleaded not guilty to the charges.
The prosecutor, Police Constable Olapeju Durodola, told the court that the defendant allegedly caused a disturbance at the residence of her former husband, Wasiu Ebeloku.
Durodola alleged that Jimoh attacked Ebeloku during the altercation by hitting him with a ring purported to be charmed.
She told the court that the incident occurred on June 5 at about 7:00 p.m. in the Alakia Isebo area of Ibadan.
The prosecutor said the alleged actions constituted offences under Sections 249(d) and 351 of the Criminal Code Laws of Oyo State, 2000.
Chief Magistrate Olabisi Ogunkanmi granted Jimoh bail in the sum of N2.5 million with two sureties in like sum.
The court ordered that one of the sureties must be a building owner residing within the court’s jurisdiction.

The case was adjourned until August 11 for hearing.
