Bayern Munich and England captain Harry Kane have agreed a new two-year contract extension in Munich, Germany, on Thursday, November 5, 2026, keeping the 33-year-old striker at the Bundesliga champions until June 30, 2029, following an outstanding spell that has established him as one of European football’s most influential forwards.
The agreement represents a significant boost for Bayern, who have secured the services of their leading goalscorer beyond the summer of 2027, when his previous four-year contract was due to expire.

Kane, who joined the German giants from Tottenham Hotspur in August 2023 for a reported £86m, has scored 156 goals and provided 40 assists in 161 competitive appearances for the club.
His remarkable contribution has helped Bayern secure two Bundesliga titles, the DFB-Pokal and two Franz Beckenbauer Supercups, while earning several individual honours.
Speaking after signing the extension, Kane expressed his satisfaction with life in Germany, describing his decision to remain at the club as a natural one.
“I feel right at home at FC Bayern. I love the club, the fans and the city of Munich,” he said.
“We have a fantastic team and, in Vincent Kompany, a fantastic manager. It makes me very proud to be part of this club.”
Kane added that his family’s happiness in Munich had also influenced his decision to continue with the club.
“My whole family is very happy here. I was keen to stay. I’m now looking forward to the future and I want to win many more titles with this great club,” he said.
The extension comes after a phenomenal 2025/26 campaign in which Kane scored 61 goals in 51 appearances for Bayern across all competitions, finishing as the leading scorer in Europe’s top five leagues.
He also contributed to England’s international campaign, taking his combined club and country tally for the season to 73 goals in 65 appearances.
His performances earned him the 2026 Ballon d’Or, making him the first Englishman since Michael Owen in 2001 to receive the prestigious individual award.
Kane also became the first Bundesliga-based player since Matthias Sammer in 1996 to claim the honour.
Bayern president Herbert Hainer described Kane’s journey at the club as a special chapter in its history, praising the striker’s influence and his connection with supporters.
Chief executive Jan-Christian Dreesen also welcomed the agreement, describing the extension as positive news for the club, its supporters and the Bundesliga.
He said Kane had delivered extraordinary performances since arriving in 2023, not only through his goals but also through his influence on the team and his conduct away from the pitch.
The England captain’s achievements in Germany have been particularly significant given the circumstances surrounding his departure from Tottenham.
Despite becoming Tottenham’s all-time leading goalscorer with 280 goals in competitive matches, Kane left the North London club without winning a major senior team trophy, having spent much of his career pursuing individual records.
His move to Bayern was widely viewed as an opportunity to compete regularly for major honours, and the forward has since transformed that ambition into tangible success.
Kane has also won the Bundesliga Golden Boot in each of his first three seasons in Germany, becoming the first player in the competition’s history to achieve the feat.
His 2025/26 campaign also earned him a second European Golden Shoe and Germany’s Footballer of the Year award.
Beyond club football, Kane captained England to third place at the 2026 FIFA World Cup in Canada, Mexico and the United States, scoring six goals during the tournament.
The new agreement therefore offers Bayern continuity in attack while giving Kane further opportunity to build on a career that has combined exceptional goalscoring consistency with an increasingly impressive collection of team and individual honours.
