Despite these challenges, Fubara reiterated that his administration remained dedicated to advancing peace, unity, and progress in the state.

“Even in the face of political disagreements, we continued to ensure good governance. Salaries were paid, development projects were underway, and Rivers State remained peaceful and secure,” Fubara said, defending his administration’s record.

He also pointed to efforts made after President Bola Tinubu’s intervention to broker peace in the state, noting that his government swiftly implemented the agreed terms, including welcoming back commissioners who had previously resigned.

Additionally, Governor Fubara assured that the state adhered to the Supreme Court’s judgment, striving to return the state to normalcy and stability.

At a critical juncture, Fubara called on Rivers residents to remain peaceful and law-abiding. He emphasised the need to engage with relevant institutions to ensure that the state’s democracy remains intact and continues to flourish.

Fubara expressed his unwavering belief in the resilience of the Rivers people and their capacity to navigate through the current challenges with wisdom and patience.

“Rivers people have always shown remarkable resilience,” he said. “We will face this situation together with steadfast faith in the democratic process.”

Fubara concluded by offering his prayers for Rivers State and Nigeria as a whole, calling for peace, unity, and a strong commitment to upholding democracy.
