Actress and filmmaker Funke Akindele has credited her rise in the Nigerian film industry to dedication, perseverance, and a steadfast commitment to her craft.

In an Instagram post on Wednesday, Akindele reflected on her career journey, stating that as a woman in film, reaching her current position required hard work and resilience.
She highlighted the importance of authenticity and carving out a personal niche in Nollywood.
“As a woman in film, it wasn’t easy getting to where I am today. It took hard work, dedication, and perseverance. Staying true to my craft, embracing my originality, and carving a niche for myself paved the way. Huge thanks to everyone supporting Behind the Scenes,” Akindele wrote.
Her remarks follow recent discussions among actors and filmmakers acknowledging challenges in promoting films, including adapting to social media trends and dancing routines.
Akindele expressed particular gratitude to supporters of her project Behind the Scenes, emphasising that remaining genuine and committed to her vision has been central to her success.
