The financial giant, title sponsor of the Nigeria Women Basketball League for 18 years, honored its commitment after D’Tigress successfully defended their trophy in Abidjan, Ivory Coast.

On social media, the team expressed gratitude, posting: “Promise made, promise kept. Zenith Bank has redeemed their pledge to the D’Tigress.

We extend our sincere gratitude to the management and especially the GMD, Adaora Umeoji, a true pillar for women in sports. Thank you for standing with our Queens.”

Under coach Rena Wakama, D’Tigress had a flawless AfroBasket campaign, dominating Rwanda in their opener, edging Mozambique in the quarterfinals, and powering past Cameroon and Senegal before sealing glory with a 78–64 win over Mali in the final.

This historic triumph marked their fifth consecutive AfroBasket title and seventh continental crown overall, following earlier victories in 2003, 2005, 2017, 2019, 2021, and 2023.
