American rapper and music mogul Sean “Diddy” Combs, 56, was reportedly taken to a hospital for treatment after sustaining a non-life-threatening head injury at the Federal Correctional Institution Fort Dix in New Jersey, United States, on Saturday, 10 October 2026, according to reports published by the Los Angeles Times on Monday, 12 October.
The circumstances surrounding the incident remain unclear, with no official explanation publicly established for how Combs sustained the injury.

Reports indicate that he was conscious and speaking before receiving medical attention.
According to TMZ, which first reported the incident, an ambulance left the prison at approximately 1am on Saturday.
The entertainment news outlet reported that Combs returned to the facility before sunrise, although the precise circumstances of the hospital visit have not been independently confirmed in full.
A representative for Combs told the Los Angeles Times: “We are aware of the reports concerning Sean Combs and are working to confirm the circumstances.”
The representative added: “Sean’s health and well-being are our immediate concern, and we appreciate everyone who has reached out.”
A spokesperson for the federal prison declined to comment on the reported hospitalization, according to the newspaper.
The incident comes amid renewed scrutiny of Combs’ conditions of imprisonment, following reports alleging that the music executive had enjoyed privileges not ordinarily available to inmates at the low-security facility.
In late September and early October, NBC News published accounts from four anonymous inmates who alleged that Combs had paid fellow prisoners to prepare meals, clean for him and provide massages.
The reports also alleged that he had access to prohibited electronic devices and alcohol.
The allegations attracted further attention after Combs was reportedly moved to a special housing unit, commonly associated with solitary confinement. Earlier reports had also linked him to a prison altercation in July 2026.
Combs’ representative pushed back against the coverage of his prison conditions, telling NBC News that media attention had become excessive.
“The continued scrutiny of every mundane detail of Sean Combs’s life in prison has reached the point where the media characterizes ordinary prison life as news,” the representative said.
The representative also maintained that Combs was serving his sentence while awaiting the outcome of his appeal.
The allegations concerning his prison privileges have not, in themselves, established the cause of his reported head injury.
The renewed scrutiny has coincided with a change to Combs’ projected release date.
According to the Los Angeles Times, citing the Federal Bureau of Prisons’ inmate database, the date was moved from 21 January 2028 to 2 March 2028, extending his expected time in custody by approximately six weeks.
Combs is serving a 50-month federal prison sentence following a jury’s July 2025 conviction on two counts of transportation to engage in prostitution.
He was acquitted of racketeering conspiracy and sex trafficking charges at the conclusion of the high-profile trial in New York.
The case drew international attention after testimony concerning Combs’ relationships, sexual encounters and alleged conduct over several years.
His former girlfriend, singer Casandra Ventura, widely known as Cassie, was among the central figures discussed during the proceedings.
Combs’ legal team has appealed his conviction and sentence, with the appeal still unresolved in the latest reports.
Once one of the most influential figures in American hip-hop, Combs built a substantial music and business empire through Bad Boy Records, artist management and commercial ventures.
His legal troubles have since marked a dramatic shift in his public standing.
For now, the reported hospital visit adds another development to his ongoing incarceration, although the available information does not establish whether the injury resulted from an accident, an altercation or another cause.
