Davido alleged daughter Anu Adeleke appeals emotionally for a DNA test as paternity dispute resurfaces online

Anu Adeleke, a teenager who has long been identified as Davido’s alleged daughter, has made an emotional public appeal to the award-winning musician, urging him to grant her a DNA test to conclusively determine her paternity.

The appeal was contained in a handwritten letter shared on social media, which has since drawn widespread reactions and renewed public attention to the long-running paternity dispute involving the singer.

Anu, whose mother previously claimed she had a child for David Adeleke, popularly known as Davido, said she was seeking clarity for her identity and peace of mind, rather than publicity or financial gain.

In the letter, the teenager respectfully pleaded with the Afrobeats star to allow a DNA test, stating that unresolved questions about her parentage had taken an emotional toll on her upbringing.

She disclosed that she had remained focused on her education despite the controversy, adding that she currently serves as a school prefect and no longer discusses her family background in public.

Anu further revealed that she had privately reached out to Davido through direct messages but received no response.

According to her, the uncertainty surrounding her identity subjected her to emotional distress from an early age, forcing her to seek professional mental health support.

She claimed that classmates often mocked her whenever she mentioned Davido as her father, describing the experience as deeply painful and isolating.

“I buried myself in my studies from the age of six, but cried almost every day at home,” she wrote.

The teenager also expressed gratitude to Nigerians who have shown concern and support over the years, noting that a DNA test would help her finally find closure.

She concluded the letter with prayers for Davido, saying she harboured no hatred towards him.

The paternity dispute dates back several years, with Anu’s mother previously alleging that Davido influenced the outcome of an earlier DNA test that reportedly returned a negative result.

Davido’s legal representatives had, at the time, denied any wrongdoing and maintained that due process was followed during the testing.

The resurfacing of the issue has triggered mixed reactions online, with some social media users calling for compassion, while others insist that the matter had already been legally settled.

Davido, who is known to be publicly involved in the lives of his acknowledged children, has not responded to the latest appeal as of the time of filing this report.
