CDCFIB announces dress code for oral interview

The Civil Defence, Correctional, Fire and Immigration Services Board (CDCFIB) has announced the approved dress code for shortlisted applicants attending the oral interview stage of its 2024/2025 recruitment exercise.

The CDCFIB oral interview is scheduled to commence on September 7, 2026, marking the final phase of the recruitment process into four federal security agencies.

The clarification was contained in a statement issued on Thursday by the Board’s Head of Press and Public Relations, Okeh Juliet, following enquiries from shortlisted candidates about the appropriate attire for the exercise.

According to the Board, candidates are required to wear a white T-shirt, which may be either short or long-sleeved. Long-sleeved shirts are optional for female applicants.

Applicants are also expected to wear white shorts or white long trousers.

The Board said long trousers are optional for female candidates.

The approved outfit must be completed with white sneakers and white socks.

Female applicants are permitted to wear headscarves, although the Board stressed that this is not compulsory.

“This clarification supersedes the earlier one and becomes necessary following enquiries from candidates on acceptable attire,” the statement said.

The Board warned that compliance with the CDCFIB oral interview dress code is mandatory, stressing that applicants who fail to meet the requirements will not be allowed into the interview venue.

“All candidates are advised to strictly adhere to the dress code stated above. Candidates who fail to comply will not be granted access to the interview venue,” the statement added.

The recruitment exercise covers vacancies in the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps, Nigerian Correctional Service, Federal Fire Service and Nigeria Immigration Service.

The Board had earlier directed applicants in the graduate category to confirm their shortlisting status through the official recruitment portal between August 31 and September 2, 2026.

Candidates who applied with NCE, OND or SSCE qualifications are scheduled to check their shortlisting status between September 7 and 9.

Applicants who are shortlisted are expected to select an interview venue closest to them, choose a convenient date and time, and print their invitation letters ahead of the exercise.

The Board also reiterated that the recruitment process is completely free.

It warned applicants against individuals demanding money in exchange for employment, stressing that no payment is required at any stage of the exercise.

The warning comes as shortlisted candidates prepare for the crucial final stage, with strict adherence to the stated requirements now a key condition for gaining access to the interview venues.

The Board wished all shortlisted applicants success as they proceed with the recruitment process.
