Very Dark Man, in a post on his Facebook page, stated that the funds will be split equally: $50,000 (N75 million) will pay fines for prisoners unable to secure release, while the remaining $50,000 will be used to settle hospital bills for patients in government-owned facilities.
“BURNA BOY JUST GAVE ME $100,000 equivalent of 150 million naira to give a new lease of life to some people, that is to people that have been in prison for years because they are unable to pay… A lot of them will be getting a fresh 2026,” Very Dark Man wrote.
He added that proper documentation will be completed to ensure the money reaches its intended beneficiaries and that data will be collected from all 36 states to ensure equitable distribution.
Very Dark Man expressed gratitude to Burna Boy for trusting him with the funds and empowering him to execute the initiative.
“Thank you Burna Boy for this kind gesture. God bless you. And thank you for trusting me with this money, believing that I will carry out this project,” he said.
