Tor Tiv, HRM Prof James Ayatse, boldly condemns Benue killings, challenging President Tinubu and the governor’s silence amid worsening insecurity

[dropcap]W[/dropcap]hile President Bola Ahmed Tinubu and the state governor appeared visibly uncomfortable with the royal father, James Ayatse’s  bold remarks, the truth remained impossible to ignore.

HRM Ayatse has continued to raise his voice, unflinching in his duty to protect the lives and dignity of his people amid a wave of violence that has claimed countless innocent lives.

Many observers across Nigeria and beyond have applauded the Tor Tiv’s unrelenting outspokenness, especially in an atmosphere where silence and political correctness have taken precedence over justice and accountability.

His words, though unsettling to those in power, have resonated with victims and communities in turmoil.

I will continue to speak the truth, no matter how bitter, for the sake of my people.

The worsening insecurity in Benue State, largely attributed to deadly attacks by suspected herdsmen and militia groups, has escalated in recent months.

Yet the federal and state governments have been accused of showing indifference, prioritising political gains over human lives. In this context, the Tor Tiv’s interventions have become a moral compass for a people abandoned by leadership.

As the crisis deepens, calls are mounting for real action and not empty statements. For now, the monarch’s voice remains one of the few credible defences left to the afflicted people of Benue.

And despite the cold reception from the corridors of power, he stands tall—speaking the truth that governance continues to ignore.
