Bayern Munich surrendered a late lead to draw 3-3 with Norwegian champions Viking on Tuesday, 13 October 2026, at Viking’s home ground in Norway, after Michael Olise was sent off in the closing stages, allowing Herman Haugen to score a dramatic 90th-minute equaliser in their UEFA Champions League encounter.
The German champions appeared to have rescued victory after Harry Kane scored twice and contributed to another goal in a spirited second-half comeback.

However, Olise’s dismissal left Bayern with 10 men and gave Viking the opportunity to claim a memorable result against one of Europe’s leading clubs.
Viking made a stunning start, taking the lead just 72 seconds into the match when Gianni Stensness headed home an outswinging corner.
Bayern responded by pushing forward, but Kane was unable to convert two headed opportunities as goalkeeper Arild Østbø kept the hosts ahead.
The Norwegian side continued to threaten on the counter-attack and doubled their advantage in the 38th minute.
Peter Christiansen finished a well-worked move to give Viking a commanding 2-0 lead at half-time and leave Bayern facing an unexpected challenge.
Bayern returned with greater urgency after the break and were handed a route back into the contest when Konrad Laimer was brought down inside the penalty area.
Kane stepped up and calmly sent the ball into the bottom-right corner, reducing the deficit.
The England captain then drew Bayern level on the hour mark, heading home a Joshua Kimmich cross to complete the comeback.
The goal extended Kane’s run of scoring in nine consecutive Champions League matches, equalling a Bayern club record previously set by Robert Lewandowski.
Bayern appeared to have turned the contest around when Luis Díaz put them ahead in the 71st minute.
Kane released Laimer, whose effort was saved, before Díaz reacted to the rebound and found the net.
The advantage, however, proved short-lived. Olise received a second yellow card after a foul and subsequent dissent, leaving Bayern a man down with approximately 16 minutes remaining.
Viking capitalised on the numerical advantage, pressing for an equaliser as Bayern attempted to protect their lead.
Haugen struck in the 90th minute to secure a 3-3 draw and spark celebrations among the home supporters.
The result represented a significant achievement for Viking, who had taken the game to Bayern from the opening minutes and refused to surrender after the visitors’ second-half resurgence.
For Bayern, the dropped points will raise questions about their defensive resilience after conceding twice in the first half and again in the closing stages.
The result also followed a 2-2 Bundesliga draw against Augsburg on Saturday, in which Bayern had conceded an early goal.
Kane’s performance nevertheless provided a positive individual highlight. His two goals and involvement in Díaz’s strike reinforced his importance to Bayern’s attack, while his scoring streak brought him within two matches of Cristiano Ronaldo’s record of scoring in 11 consecutive Champions League appearances.
Olise’s dismissal adds another complication for Bayern, as the French winger will miss next week’s high-profile Champions League meeting with English champions Arsenal in Munich through suspension.
Bayern must now regroup ahead of that fixture, while Viking can take confidence from a performance that combined early attacking intent with the determination to fight back after losing their two-goal advantage.

The dramatic finish ensured that the contest ended as a valuable statement for the Norwegian side and a frustrating setback for Bayern, who had appeared to have completed an impressive comeback before Haugen’s late intervention.
