Speaking to Arise News at the Presidential Villa after a reception hosted by President Bola Tinubu to celebrate Nigeria’s WAFCON 2025 victory, the six-time African Player of the Year expressed shock over the rumors.

“I am not retiring. I don’t know where that news came from,” Oshoala said. “I’m here to play football and enjoy the moment with my teammates. We just won the trophy. This is not the time for distractions.”

The striker emphasized her commitment to future competitions, including the World Cup and Olympics, stating the team remains focused on growth and consistency.
