Two Aiyedatiwa aides resign from Ondo State Government, as media assistants step down without stating reasons for their departure

Two media aides to Ondo State Governor Lucky Aiyedatiwa have resigned from their positions in a development that has stirred quiet political interest within the state.

Pastor Taiwo Gbamila, Senior Special Assistant on Multimedia, and Olugbenga Abire, Special Assistant on New Media, formally stepped down from their appointments on Sunday and Monday respectively.

Gbamila submitted his resignation letter to Governor Lucky Aiyedatiwa and the Secretary to the State Government, expressing appreciation for the opportunity to serve.

Gbamila wrote that he was grateful for the confidence reposed in him and respectfully tendered his resignation.

Abire announced his decision earlier via a public statement, describing the move as emotional. Abire later disclosed on his Facebook page that Governor Lucky Aiyedatiwa had approved the resignation after a private conversation on Sunday evening.

Abire noted that the governor prayed for him and endorsed his future plans, describing the exchange as fatherly and supportive.

Neither of the former appointees provided reasons for their departure, leaving observers to speculate about possible internal shifts within the administration.

The resignations come at a sensitive political period as state governments across the country gradually reposition ahead of the 2027 general elections.

While no immediate replacements have been announced, the exits mark a notable adjustment within the governor’s media team.

The Ondo State Government has yet to issue an official statement clarifying the circumstances surrounding the Aiyedatiwa aides resign decision.
