Leading global Afrobeats stars Burna Boy, Wizkid, and Rema have emerged among the top contenders in this year’s major music nominations, underscoring the genre’s continued international expansion and influence.

The announcement places Burna Boy, Wizkid, and Rema alongside fast-rising acts such as Ghanaian-American singer MOLIY and South African star Tyla, forming a competitive and diverse lineup that reflects the evolving face of global Afrobeats.
2026 Afrobeats Nominee List category highlights both established powerhouses and emerging voices, reinforcing how the genre has matured into a worldwide cultural force spanning multiple continents.
Tyla’s presence is particularly notable following her historic win at the 2025 edition of the awards, where she clinched Favorite Afrobeats Artist ahead of industry heavyweights including Wizkid, Rema, Tems, and Asake.
