Osun investors meeting highlights strong business climate as Chinese delegation explores opportunities at the state’s Free Trade Zone

Osun investors engagement has taken a significant step forward as Governor Ademola Adeleke showcased Osun’s growing business appeal and strong ease of doing business rating during a visit by a Chinese multi-sectoral investment team.

The governor hosted the delegation at the Government House in Osogbo, explaining that the state is steadily closing infrastructural gaps to support investors.

He highlighted that the Osun Free Trade Zone already has several active players and remains open to more genuine investors seeking a favourable environment.

Adeleke said his administration is fixing roads, bridges, schools and utilities to strengthen the state’s economic backbone.

He explained that Osun’s automated tax system and its 48-hour certificate of occupancy process have boosted confidence among local and foreign businesses.

He added that the improved regulatory environment has given Osun a commendably high ease of doing business score.

He assured the visitors that the Ministry of Commerce and Industry is equipped to provide full support and professional guidance for new investors, stressing that Osun is ready for expansive industrial growth.

Dr Yusuf Fadairo, representing the management of Shanghai Fadewei International Trade Company Limited, said the team chose Osun for two reasons.

He noted their admiration for global music star David Adeleke, known as Davido, and the consistent reports of good governance delivered by Governor Adeleke.

According to him, Davido’s popularity in China helped build positive sentiment around the state.

Fadairo added that the delegation was impressed by the performance of the governor and that the Free Trade Zone met their expectations during inspection.

He said the company is prepared to establish multiple factories once remaining regulatory processes are completed, calling the prospects encouraging and powerful.

Members of the Chinese team included Zheng Lifa, Zhai Yikang, Yu Lu, Yao Weide, Prince Charles Ajiboye and Bamigboye Olabode, each representing sectors ranging from amusement park construction to paint production and electric tricycles.

The Secretary to the State Government, Hon Teslim Igbalaye, Commissioner for Commerce and Industry, Rev Bunmi Jenyo, broadcaster Femi Adefila and other officials were present during the visit, underscoring the administration’s commitment to attracting investment and supporting its economic vision.
